In thermoforming or vacuum forming, a product is formed by heating a plastic sheet. By creating a partial vacuum the material is pulled into or over the mold. Both a positive and a negative mold can be used for this, depending on the side that is most important for the design.
Vacuum forming is a relatively inexpensive way of processing plastics in which the advantages of plastic can be optimally exploited. There are lots of possibilities in design and implementation, but also in the size and finishing of your product. We can even vacuum form products into a size of 4000 x 2500 x 1000 mm!
Other techniques for the processing of plastics are thermal processing and mechanical processing.
